My path to becoming a sexologist didn't start with textbooks—it started with a natural, profound curiosity. From a young age, I discovered self-pleasure without shame and found myself fascinated by every aspect of sex. I was the kid who stayed up late watching Loveline and Talk Sex with Sue, absorbing information about the conversations we were taught to avoid. In college, I found ways to weave sexual health education into my public speaking classes and even into the bathroom stalls of my sorority house, just because I knew the information was needed.
This curiosity moved from fun to mission-driven when I received my genital herpes (Type 1) diagnosis just before my 22nd birthday. It was a massive learning experience that opened my eyes to the brokenness of the system: the failures of STI testing, the brutal stigmatization of STIs, and the vital importance of communication in relationships.
This single event galvanized me. It was the catalyst that directly turned my attention toward Public Health and Sexual Health Education as a serious, professional pursuit.
I committed myself to understanding sexual health at a community and clinical level:
After years in the clinical environment, I recognized a critical gap: data and textbooks weren't enough. The Somatica® method—which focuses on real relational connection—was the missing piece.
Becoming a Certified Somatica® and Holistic Intimacy and Relationship Coach was the natural next step in my career. It allows me to share what I truly love—helping people discover and go after what they desire by supporting them in making empowered decisions. Grounding that work in the behavioral sciences while maintaining a non-judgmental, trauma-empowered philosophy is where I feel most aligned, so that's what helps inform my path.
My journey is one of converting deep, real-world knowledge and personal experience into a safe, candid, and connected space for your healing and pursuit of love and happiness.
